« We promote equality, empowerment, and the exercise of rights for women and youth in Bolivia »
Information, reflection, and support to decide with autonomy, care, and rights.
What do we work on? / Our focus
At SSF Bolivia, we develop Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) processes aimed at strengthening the exercise of sexual and reproductive rights, autonomy over one's own body, self-care, and informed decision-making throughout life.
We understand CSE as a comprehensive, continuous, and contextualized process that goes beyond the mere transmission of information. We promote self-knowledge, critical reflection on relationships, respect for diversity, and the building of relationships based on consent, communication, and mutual care. Our work is grounded in a gender and human rights approach, adapted to the cultural, social, and territorial realities of adolescents, youth, and adults
A central pillar of our CSE is consent, understood as a daily practice that permeates the exercise of bodily autonomy, boundaries, pleasure, bonds, and shared responsibility.
Who do we work with?
We develop this line of action partnered with:
• Adolescents and youth.
• Young and adult women.
• Educators, promoters, and community leaders.
• Families and community figures.
• Educational, health, and social institutions linked to education, youth, gender, and rights.
How do we do it?
We implement participatory and experiential educational processes, based on a gender and human rights approach, combining:
• Spaces for information and reflection on sexuality, body, relationships, pleasure, and self-care.
• Specific work on bodily autonomy, consent, communication, and informed decision-making.
• Addressing contraceptive methods, STI prevention, and access to health services from a rights-based perspective.
• Prevention of violence linked to sexuality, including digital violence.
• Design and application of in-house educational methodologies, adapted to different ages and contexts.
• Production of educational and awareness materials, such as booklets, guides, pedagogical resources, and communication content.
To facilitate dialogue and identification, we incorporate youth-oriented characters and spokespersons, such as Luzmi, who allow us to convey content in a relatable, accessible, and contextualized manner, especially for adolescent and youth populations.
What types of actions do we develop?
• Workshops and training processes in Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE).
• Spaces for dialogue and reflection on consent, bodily autonomy, relationships, and self-care.
• Implementation of playful and participatory methodologies, such as the resource “ConSentido: A Game to Reflect on Consent and Sexual Rights.”
• Collective encounters and exchange spaces focused on bodily autonomy and sexual and reproductive rights.
• Training and support for educators and community promoters.
• Development and dissemination of educational materials, pedagogical resources, and youth booklets.
• Design and implementation of awareness campaigns.
• Community and inter-institutional actions for the promotion of rights.
