General Project Description
ACTION III is an ongoing project that provides continuity and deepens the processes developed in the previous phases of the ACTION initiative, implemented in the municipalities of La Paz and El Alto.
The project is aimed at strengthening the capacities of women, adolescents, youth, and community actors for the prevention of gender-based violence, the exercise of rights, transformative leadership, and social participation, through educational, community, and inter-institutional coordination processes.
ACTION III is built upon the accumulated lessons learned, validated methodologies, and strategic alliances developed by SSF Bolivia in previous years, consolidating a comprehensive approach based on gender and human rights.
What are we working on in this phase?
In this stage, the project prioritizes the strengthening and deepening of four pillars of work:
• Prevention of gender-based violence and promotion of egalitarian relationships.
• Comprehensive sexuality education, with an emphasis on consent, bodily autonomy, and informed decision-making.
• Strengthening of community and youth leadership with a gender approach.
• Coordination of community and institutional networks for violence prevention and the promotion of rights.
Who do we work with?
The project is developed together with:
• Women: adolescents, youths, and adults.
• Adolescents and youth.
• Educators, promoters, and community leaders.
• Social and community organizations.
• Public institutions and partner entities linked to gender, youth, education, and rights.
How did we implement it?
The implementation of ACTION III is based on a participatory, community-based, and contextualized approach that combines:
• In-person and virtual educational processes.
• Participatory and experiential methodologies.
• Production and use of educational and awareness-raising materials.
• Spaces for dialogue, collective reflection, and mutual learning.
• Coordination with community networks and local institutions.
The project incorporates lessons learned and tools developed in previous phases, adapting them to the current needs and dynamics of the territories.
Process Progress
Currently, the project is in the implementation phase, carrying out actions such as:
• Educational and awareness-raising activities with women and youth.
• Capacity building for promoters and community actors.
• Inter-institutional coordination and articulation actions.
• Adaptation and updating of methodologies and educational materials.
